The Incredible Pig Syndrome!

Pigs are notorious for their instinctive urge to gorge themselves on food—which used to be called slop—and get fat, following which they are slaughtered to provide food for human beings.

It stands to reason that pigs are not smart enough to eat only what they need to be healthy and live a normal life span… otherwise humans would be eating a lot more lean pork.

I’ve had personal experience with raising and slaughtering pigs. When I was about four years old my father enlisted my help in slaughtering a normal sized pig. He asked me to hold the back legs of the pig so it couldn’t run and he could shoot it in the head with a 22.caliber rifle.

But the pig kept swaying its head back-and-forth and the bullet lodged in the side of its head. This set off even more squirming and squealing and kicking by the pig.

Dad got a hammer, straddled the head of the pig with his back facing me and began trying hit it in the head with the hammer. This caused even more squirming and squealing and kicking, but after several blows he finally killed it.

Every time I hear that some 60 percent or more of Americans are obese [fat!], or see really really fat people waddling along like over-inflated balloons I am reminded of the built-in instincts of pigs to gorge themselves as long as there is food available, and of the pig that Dad and I killed.

Normal human beings are not as dumb as pigs. But an incredibly large percentage of people in the U.S. and elsewhere gorge themselves like pigs. There are a variety of reasons for this.

Fat women tend to have fat babies who apparently inherent a tendency from their mothers to over-eat. Fat mothers provide their children with more food than they need and often insist that they eat everything that is on their plates.

With extra food on their plates and on the table and the pressure and example set by their mothers many kids get into the habit of eating until they are stuffed.

Furthermore, both home-cooked and processed goods are laced with salt or sugar or both, which triggers an “eat response” in people.

Fast-food restaurants have become masters at creating foods that both look good and are tasty by adding sugar, salt, oils and other ingredients that trick both the mind and the taste buds.

Restaurants of all kinds serve up dishes that contain more calories than an individual needs, adding to the fat syndrome. And many specialize in serving huge portions.

Both food manufacturers and restaurants use clever advertising and marketing techniques to seduce people into eating fattening foods and more food than they need.

Many American women have been seduced by the food industry and some medical authorities into believing that they got fat and stay fat because they had babies. There are millions of mothers around the world who have had several children but during pregnancy only their bellies get big and following child-birth they return to their normal slim size.

Fat men and women in the U.S. and other “well-to-do” countries have developed a pig syndrome that belies their intelligence.

And then there are the profit-making drug companies that spend millions of dollars promoting drugs to help people lose weight. And doctors who suck out stomach fat or tie up something in the stomach that prevents people from gorging themselves.

In June 2013 the American Medical Association officially declared obesity a disease, like cancer, TB, daibetes, and so on. The goal of this movement was to make it possible for doctors to charge obese people fees for treating their “disease,” with the charges being passed on to medicare and private insurance companies.

The motivation of the AMA doctors is obvious, as this would add millions of additional people to their patient pool. That will further enrich doctors but it will also help bankrupt the government.

You can’t blame pigs for getting fat! But people…..!!!

Our Enemies are Not Aliens!

Inhabitants of planet Earth do not have to worry about their homes being attacked by aliens from outer space. That could happen but it is so unlikely that we shouldn’t worry about it…

However, according to some news media reports the government has a number of obscure programs to detect the approach of alien warships.

The Earth is, of course, already under attack but by earthlings; not aliens. The home-grown attacks on the Earth have been described over and over by individuals and groups with warnings that if dramatic changes are not made the Earth will eventually become unlivable.

The armies attacking the Earth are made up of both individuals and companies, with companies being at the forefront of the battle lines. The overwhelming majority of the industrial activities in the United States and all other industrialized nations results in some kind of harm to the planet.

These harmful agents include not only the processes of manufacturing but also many of the products that are produced. This story is, of course, well known and there is a growing effort to eliminate or at least mitigate the worst of the pollution.

Old-timers might remember the name of Stewart Brand and his huge Whole Earth Catalog, which contained hundreds of suggestions for helping to reduce pollution.

However, this is not something that can be done easily or quickly and each day that goes by more harmful substances are pumped into the air, the earth and the oceans.

One of the biggest offenders is the energy industry—the plants that produce electrical energy. Without massive amounts of electrical energy available at the push of a button the entire economic, political and social systems of the industrialized nations would collapse in a matter weeks.

The basic problem is simply that the lifestyle that humans have created since the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s has ended up hurting the Earth in some way.
It seems that the only partial future solution for this problem will be more advances in technology that will make it possible for fundamental changes to be made in where and how we live and how companies manufacture and distribute all the products we need and want.

But given the basic mindset of men, the prevailing money morality, the failure of religions to curb the worst instincts of mankind and the lack of a rational, practical universal philosophy to guide and control human efforts, the health of the Earth will continue to decline for a very long time.

I foresee the time when some people will unite to build huge space arks that will hold thousands of residents and include sustainable processes for providing air, food, water and other necessities for a comfortable life…and either reconvert or vaporize all waste.

For these arks to provide and sustain permanent [or semi-permanent] homes they would have to control the size of their populations, which means no religions that expect their followers to produce as many children as possible.

If I could end up on one of these space arks I would immediately ask for a close fly-by of Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and the other planets, as well as several dozen of the solar system’s 200 moons. What a tour that would be!

America’s Dumbed-Down Political Process!

The concept of democracy—a situation in which the majority rules by voting for their leaders and by voting them out when they fail to follow the will of the people—was a great advance in the political process, and it sounds good.

But it works well when only a few people are involved or when larger groups are culturally homogenized to the point that they think and act very much alike—that is they essentially have the same values and same desires and readily agree about virtually all matters.

Democracy worked fairly well during the early decades of the United States, but the larger and more diverse the population the more disagreements and conflicts that arose among both voters and elected officials.

The greatest and most destructive example of the fatal weaknesses of the democratic system was the Civil War [1861-1865] during which several million men were killed or horribly wounded, and much of the infrastructure of the south was destroyed. The war enlarged a schism between the north and south that still has not healed.

And another fundamental truth that the war revealed was the inability of the Christian religion to bring people together and maintain peace and goodwill. Both sides in the war proclaimed loudly that the Christian God was on their side and would ensure their victory. You know how that turned out.

Democracy as it is practiced in the United States today has so many inherent faults and problems that there is no way it can or ever will function effectively.

In addition to the inherent faults of democracy the Congress of the United States and state governments have passed a morass of laws designed to please and favor small groups of people and districts within the states that emphasize the weaknesses of democracy rather than

serve the interest and needs of the public.
When you have 100 diverse districts represented by 100 diverse individuals, each with local and personal agendas, you have a series of problems in which there is little or no common ground.

The two-party system of government has always been and always will be a total repudiation of the concept of democracy. The two-party system divides the people into groups that have the strongest opposing views and desires and see each other as the enemy. It gives them a platform, a bulwark, on which they can stand and argue and fight and prevent the other side from getting its way.

The two-party system of government should be banned. There should be only one party in the U.S.—the America Party. The only way this might ever happen is for the overwhelming number of Americans who are disgusted with Congress to put their collective feet down and order their representatives to pass legislation outlawing the two-party system, recall them if they don’t, and send in new members who will.

Don’t hold your breath…for here again is another classic example of the irrational elements that make up the beast-mind of human males!

The Great World Wealth Rip-Off

Statistics reveal that some 80 percent of the wealth of the United States is owned by 20 percent of the population. In countries in Asia and Africa the disparity between the rich and the not rich is even more extreme—in many cases as much as 95 percent to five percent.

The reasons for these huge disparities are simple. In the worst Asian and African nations the rulers of the country control virtually all of the wealth. They simply presume to own the wealth-producing raw materials and industries of the countries and use the wealth to maintain large support staffs of bureaucrats along with military forces to keep the populace at bay.

In the United States the reason for the wealth disparity is both more subtle and clever and is hardly ever criticized by the government, the news media, the educators or anyone else.
The directors of major American corporations simply approve the system of paying top executives huge salaries and giving them stock and stock options in the companies they managed.

The combined income of many individual executives in the U.S. amounts to dozens of millions of dollars a year while ordinary employees of many huge companies make as little as 20 or 30 thousand dollars a year.

By approving stock and stock options for top executives the hand-picked directors of large corporations ensure that most of the wealth produced by the companies goes to and stays in the hands of the executives and their families.

This system creates a small class of very wealthy families that will remain rich and get richer with each generation if they are not complete idiots.

Of course, there are incredibly rich people in the U.S. who made their wealth on their own and are incredibly generous, giving large amounts of it away and financing worthy projects. They are and should be applauded.

But there is something wrong with a capitalistic system that rewards a tiny percentage of the population with great wealth simply because of their positions as executives of profit-making companies, while their employees are paid miniscule amounts by comparison.

I do not object to people becoming rich when they do so by fair and just means, but it does irk me that a relatively small number of executives and their comrades-in-arms directors are able to vote themselves huge salaries in cash and stock.

That, to me, is immoral and is another example of the low order of common sense—not to mention wisdom—that is still typical of the male sex.

The Cause of Racial and Religous Profiling!

It can be presumed that the very first sub-humans to shed their coating of hair and begin to “look human” had the fairly dark or dark skin that is typical of apes and monkeys.

As time passed different bodily characteristics and skin colors arose in different parts of the planet because of environmental influences that included the climate and the diet.

Those in equatorial and warm areas where there was lots of sunshine developed skins that ranged from black to brown, while those in cooler climates with less sunshine became fair or white skinned.

These differences were to play fundamental roles in the future of mankind from that time on. Members of each of these groups no doubt considered themselves superior to the others, and when there was contact between them conflicts were inevitable, with the larger and more powerful groups dominating the others.

While historical records are sketchy, it seems that human beings began to collect in larger and larger groups in Asia, Africa and what is referred to as the Near East and Middle East around 10,000 years ago.

Historians say that these groups became more and more “civilized” as the centuries passed, with the first “nation states” appearing between 7,000 and 4,000 BC.

That is very, very late in the overall history of homo sapiens but it seems that the evolution of the human brain was a slow process but once it reached a certain point it speeded up.

In any event by 2,000 BC there were sophisticated brown, black and white nations in all of the above regions of the Earth, with those on the North and South American continents—the Incas and Aztecs—appearing sometime later.

Then civilizations of the browns and blacks began to decline. The exceptions to this were the Incas of Peru and the Aztecs of Mexico. They continued to flourish until they were destroyed by invading white armies from Spain in the first decades of the 1500s.

In contrast to this, white civilizations in the Near East and Middle East continued to grow in sophistication. Rome appeared about 2,600 years ago and Greece about 2,400 years ago.

But it was not until about 1700 A.D. that whites began to dominate the world. This rapid emergence of whites as the power brokers of the world came about because of the Industrial Revolution that began in the early 1700s in England and quickly spread to other European nations.

Industrialization began in England because the necessary ingredients were there—Iron and coal; thinkers and inventors who could communicate freely; lack of internal tariffs and other political interference; a large efficient agricultural industry that left many men available for other kinds of work; convenient access to river ways and oceans with readily available ports, and a number of inventions and innovations that led to the assembly line method of manufacturing.

The rapid advance of the English and other European economies resulted in them building large fleets of commercial and military ships, becoming international traders on a massive scale, and invading and colonizing the less advanced black and brown countries around the world.

Another factor in this rapid white domination of the world was the one-God based Catholic Church, which was determined to Christianize the planet.

From the first European voyages of discovery that took whites to Asia and the Americas in the 15th and 16th centuries it became the goal of the Catholic hierarchy to spread the religion as far and as wide as possible.

The Catholic Church and its catholicized government allies, particularly Portugal and Spain, assumed that the native people of the rest of the world had no rights to their lands and that the Church was obeying God’s command to Christianize them by force if necessary. Catholic priests accompanied all of the Spanish and Portuguese armies that invaded the New World and Asia.

Many native populations on the Caribbean islands and other places were simply wiped out because they could not cope with the military power and aggressive cultures of the white European nations.

There were three major exceptions in Asia—China, Korea and Japan. These nations had powerful armies of their own and religions that were more practical, humane and philosophical than Christianity, and were able to avoid being conquered.

Thus it came about that race and color played a key role in the history of the world, with whites eventually emerging as the dominate color and a highly discriminating one-God religion continuing to be a primary justification in their conquests.

But as it has turned out no religion and no philosophy has ever had the power to reprogram the basic mindset of enough human males to result in peaceful, progressive societies. On the contrary, virtually all societies are now more violent than what they were in the past and the prevailing morality is money, not religion.

That said, most religions would never survive on their beliefs and teachings alone. They must have rituals, costumes, other paraphanaila and buildings to impress their followers.

The Savage-Mind & Body Decorations!

In ancient times it became common for people—males in particularly—to decorate their faces and bodies with paint, bones and other materials that were designed to give them an imposing and often frightening look.

Some of these decorations involved the mutilation of the face and body of both sexes in a variety of ways, beginning when the individuals were quite young.

Most people have seen recent films or photographs of young tribal girls who had thick metal wires wrapped tightly around their necks in ascending order from the shoulders to their heads to increase the lengths of their necks. They have also seen males with bones sticking through holes made in the lower central portion of their noses.

Just about everybody familiar with Chinese history is aware that until around 1900 the feet of upper class girls were tightly bound at a young age to prevent them from growing, making it extremely difficult to hobble around on them.

The reason for this crazy custom was that upper class Chinese men were sexually turned on by women with tiny feet, and sought them both as sex partners and wives. Mothers who wanted their daughters to marry well did the binding.

The modern-day equivalent of this practice are the high heels that millions of women in affluent countries wear to appear sexier to men–a practice that deforms the toes and causes damage to the legs, back and body in general.

The savage custom of decorating the body is not dead. Sailors have long had their skins decorated with tattoos. Lower class boys and men in urban areas adopted the practice as part of their image. I fell victim to this syndrome. In the early 1940s when I was 14, I ended up with four small tattoos and one large tattoo on my arms. In the 1960s I burned the four small ones off with acid, leaving scars. In the 1980s I had the large one removed by the new laser technique.

In the 1950s and 60s punk musicians began getting tattoos and wearing far-out costumes to get publicity and attract audiences. The entertainment news media obliged them.

This resulted in young Hollywood movie actors and actresses beginning to get tattoos for the same reason—to be in the “in crowd” and attract the news media.

This resulted in their young fans and people who were not necessarily their fans getting tattoos on various parts of their bodies, including areas not generally exposed to the public. By the first decade of the 21st century the persona of many actors, actresses, sports celebrities and just ordinary people was defined by their tattoos.

The news media, especially television moguls, played a significant role in this phenomenon, with special programs about tattoo artists and their growing number of customers. One such program that aired just yesterday showed a clear close-up view of a tattoo on the butt of a fairly obese woman. The tattoo was about two inches from her anus.

At this time among the troops of entertainers traveling the U.S. is one entitled Mayhem Festival which features an outlandish collection of “hard metal” musicians that includes a man named Rob Zombie whose arms are covered with tattoos and whose act is billed as Night of the Living Dead.

This annual gathering of “metal tribes” includes such names as Five Finger Death, Butcher Babies and Machine Head. The entertainment sections of newspapers dutifully publicize the traveling troop.

As of this writing there is at least one television show that features tattoos and emphasizes what pain people go through to get some of them, along with examples of tattoos that are absolutely shocking.

The evolution of the human species obviously still has a long way to go!

The Ongoing Unending Sex Problem of Humanity!

As noted in previous blogs nature created a two-sex system for propagating virtually all species of life…there are a few weird creatures in the ocean that are said not to need a male to give birth to offspring.

The problem with the two-sex system is that the male side was created to be the aggressor with the urge to impregnate as many females as possible by using whatever force that might be necessary for unwilling partners.

The larger, stronger and more ambitious the males the more females they attempted to control and impregnate, resulting in the formation of harems by a variety of animals, including apes, horses, monkeys and men.

This mindset completely ignored the possibility that females might also have both strong sexual desires and prefer to choose their own mates.

Then along came human civilization and in many societies powerful male leaders decided that only they could have harems. This left other males to officially have only one mate but it did not stop most of them from mating with whatever female they could entice [including with some form of payment] or hold down.

In any event, the nature-designed sexuality of males and females conflicted sharply with the customs and rules male leaders created, which left most males and virtually all females sexually frustrated all of their lives.

Would you believe that it was not until the late 1800s that male doctors finally learned and admitted that the “female hysteria” that most women suffered from was a symptom of sexual frustration caused by not having regular or in many cases no sexual orgasms.

They finally learned and admitted to this when it was discovered that the “hysteria” symptoms disappeared when a female was allowed to masturbate. And we’re talking about a couple of hundred years ago after millions of years!

What does that have to sale about the male mind; about male intelligence; about the male view of females?
The sexual conflict caused by nature remains as powerful as ever and it is starkly evident that the one-man one-woman couple custom does not resolve the problem for many people. Furthermore males and females are at their sexual peak from the age of puberty to the mid or late 20s when most don’t have sexual partners.

The early Polynesians appear to have been about the only society to have come close to solving that problem. It was their custom for older women to form sexual liaisons with young boys and for older men to do the same with young girls. They did not select their mates until they were in their early 20s.

Naturally, the Christian missionaries who went to the Hawaiian Islands in the late 1700s put a stop to this practice. They also prohibited surfing in the nude.

It has been proven beyond any doubt that sexual frustration is the root cause of much of the violence that afflicts mankind. You can image what this does to the mindset of men who opt for celibacy for religious reasons.

Profanity as the New “In” Language!

As noted in a previous blog the ability to communicate using words and the subsequent development of languages was a key factor in the continuing evolution of human beings.

Language subsequently became both a reservoir and a transmitter of knowledge, of cultures…something that most people still today are still not aware of or generally ignore.

The words that ancient people learned and used were a measure of their knowledge and understanding of the world about them. Over the eons this store of knowledge and understanding increased and became a measure of how far humans had evolved from their beast ancestry.

While both knowledge and understanding have dramatically increased over time it has not eliminated or even curbed the beastly tendencies of many people, particularly males, as is so graphically demonstrated every second of time throughout the world.

Now, the growth of the entertainment industries and new technology from around the 1950s has introduced a new element into the use and influence of language.

Actors, comedians and so-called singers, first in the U.S., began to use what had traditionally been described as foul language or profanity for its shock appeal; for the publicity it got them and for its power to attract more viewers and listeners.

Prior to this phenomenon the common use of foul language was generally limited to lower-class boys and men who used it to buttress their image as tough males.

However, by the turn of the 21st century foul language was not only a major ingredient in many forms of entertainment it had begun to seep into the younger generations of both males and females in both the middle and upper classes.

It is now common to hear what used to be considered the foulest of language coming from the mouths of both males and females.

What the effect of this will be in the long run is unknown. It may be that the foul stench that has been associated with certain words for millennia will simply fade away.

And then there are the words associated with race, color and religions that are used as slurs. The criticism and discrimination inferred by these terms is much less likely to disappear.

So once again we are back where we started. The evolution of the human mind has a long way to go.

Why Males are Programmed to Dominate Females!

There is no more telling evidence of the primitive, semi-savage mindset of ancient and present-day males around the world than their view and treatment of females.

Political, economic and social circumstances finally began coming together in the late 1800s and early 1900s in the United States and some European nations that made it possible for women to begin standing up and demanding that they be treated as something other than chattel.

Incredibly, American women did not win the right to vote until the 1920s—and the male bastion that was in charge of everything regarded themselves as paragons of fairness and goodwill.

Here, again, males throughout the history of the human species have not considered themselves the mean-hearted tyrants they actually were and still are in many societies.

The human male mind had not and still in many ways and places has not got beyond that of the common male animal that lords it over the females of its species, sexually and otherwise.

The emancipation of the female sex is not yet complete in any country and has hardly started in many countries. The one thing that has been used by adult males in all societies to keep females in the status of objects instead of partners is religions.

All of the major religions of the world have been created and managed by males. The gods they created were all males who were programmed to reflect the will of males in how females should be treated.

This insidious and invidious situation has survived to this very day, and did not begin to weaken in the U.S. and a number of other countries until the middle of the 20th century.

In what is a slap in the face of nature emancipated women can actually reprogram the mindset of many males, particularly those whose testosterone could is low.

Whether humanity will ever achieve even half of its potential in the future will be determined by the number of women who free themselves from the domination of males and make the contributions they are so capable of making.

The Great Alcohol & Tobacco Conspiracy!

The accomplishments of mankind, especially since the early 1900s, range from remarkable to incredible…or to be correct I should say the accomplishments of a few individuals range from remarkable to incredible.

Many of these remarkable breakthroughs have been achieved by rare individuals who were in their late teens, twenties and thirties, which indicates that there is something wrong with the brains and thinking of the vast majority of middle-agers and seniors.

But there are a number of specific areas in which older men have made decisions that have had an incredible impact on humanity as a whole—an impact that has caused more suffering and more death than all the religion-based wars throughout history.

These specific areas are alcoholic drinks and tobacco. It is well known that alcohol and tobacco are the direct causes of millions of injuries and fatal health problems every year. The mental and physical harm they cause both drinkers and smokers and non-drinkers and non-smokers every year is incalculable.

Just reviewing a list of the names of famous movie actors who have died because of their drinking and/or smoking habits is so shocking it verges on being unbelievable. Now multiple that list by several hundred million people.

This tragic situation had a rather innocuous beginning. In ancient times alcoholic drinks were most often used in religious rituals, and their production and consumption remained very small for thousands of years.

It was not until after the Industrial Revolution in England in the 1700s that the manufacture and marketing of alcoholic drinks became big business.

When European explorers reached North and South America in the 1500s they found some natives smoked tobacco as a religious ritual. When tobacco was introduced into England as a novelty from the New World only few people tried it because the smell was so obnoxious and the effect on the lungs was so bad.

What these few brave experimenters did not know was that tobacco contained highly addictive elements, and those who kept up the practice for as little as a few weeks got hooked on it.

It was not known until the 1930s that smoking tobacco causes lung cancer and chewing tobacco causes throat cancer. In the 1930s a doctor in Louisiana [I think it was] called his interns together and said he wanted to show them something they would probably never see again: a patient [who smoked] with lung cancer.

In the early 1930s my father took me to see my tobacco-chewing grandfather who had just been operated on for throat cancer. He died a few days later.

In the early 1900s the American Congress passed a law making it legal for tobacco companies to add a number of chemical ingredients to their cigarettes to make them more palatable and provide a bigger kick. There are said to be over 400 identifiable chemicals in tobacco smoke, one of them being formaldehyde used to embalm dead bodies.

So what was and what is the rationale that has made alcoholic drinks and tobacco products two of the biggest industries on the planet? Why the huge profits they make for their manufacturers and sellers and the equally huge amount of taxes they bring into the government annually.

And then there are the millions of drinkers and smokers who become patients of doctors and hospitals, contributing enormously to their bottom lines.

If all this is not enough to convince people that smoking cigarettes is a stupid practice the National Fire Prevention Agency says that discarded cigarette butts start around 90,000 fires every year.

One of the latest offerings to smokers who want and/or need a nicotine fix are mechanical cigarette-like tubes that contain and dispense only nicotine. It will probably become a multi-billion dollar a year business.

The UK has decided to regulate the sale of e-cigarettes, making them for sale as over-the-counter medicines from 2016 on. The government says that smoking is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the country, killing about 80,000 people a year.

In 2013 a new company began promoting a cigarette brand-named AMERIAN SPIRIT with the word NATURAL over the top of the brand name. Additional copy on the TIME Magazine full-page ad said the cigarettes were made of only tobacco and water, with no additives. The name AMERICAN SPIRIT is ingenous to say the least.

And then there is the growing movement to make marijuana smoking legal nationwide in the U.S.

So what does all this say about the intelligence of the human species?
